Hospital eye services are in high demand, almost 10% of the national NHS backlog is in ophthalmology with hundreds of thousands of patients across the country currently on the waiting list to start treatment. The eye services we offer at Frimley Health will be discussed at our next health event, taking place online on November 28 6.30pm-7.30pm.
You can join us and hear from our ophthalmology experts about how we have transformed eye services at Heatherwood Hospital for patients across the region. Manju Chandran, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, and Dr Lorraine North, Head of Ophthalmology and AHP Consultant Orthoptics and Ophthalmology, will talk about the success in increasing the number of cataracts procedures at Heatherwood. More than 3500 cataracts ops have been carried out since the new hospital opened and the local waiting lists for cataracts is now just 2-4 weeks.
This free health event will also feature Frimley Health’s CEO Neil Dardis, who will give an update on the latest news from our Trust and some of the exciting plans in the pipeline for the future.
