Removing advantage card discounts for parking

The Royal Borough has introduced a cost saving budget for 2020/21 which lists a number of ways they intend to save costs in the next year. This includes removing the discount you currently get on parking if you have an advantage card.

Part of the Royal Borough's cost saving budget for 2020/21 includes the removal of Advantage Card discounts for residents. We have recently been carrying out enter and view visits to GP surgeries across the borough talking to residents.

Residents have reported that often parking can be an issue. Some of the surgeries do not have any parking and those that do can often be full, in these instances residents need to use nearby public car parks and where possible on street parking (if no restrictions).

The removal of the parking discounts will likely result in a negative impact which could create a barrier to accessing primary care.
