Prostate cancer generally affects men over 50 and is rare in younger men. It's the most common type of cancer in men. Around 37,000 men in the UK are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year.
It differs from most other cancers in the body, in that small areas of cancer within the prostate are very common and may stay dormant (inactive) for many years.
Based on the success of our previous Prostate Cancer Awareness days, Windsor Lions are repeating the event in 2018.
This is a FREE event and offers men aged 40 and over (though no strict barrier to age is enforced!) to come along for a blood test to check for early signs of possible Prostate Cancer. We will have on hand qualified nurses and a consultant Urologist plus staff from the MacMillan Trust to give advice and counselling. As well as being free the event is totally confidential.
